Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Why do we ask users to allow qwadapp.com to know their location?

Answer: To give you the best possible match, we need to know where you truly are — not just where you say you are. Location access lets us confirm you're exactly where you claim to be, so we can find a true, geo-local group near you. It also helps us catch and prevent scammers who try to falsify their location to join groups they're not actually part of.

Your location is used to power your match and keep QWAD trustworthy — nothing more.

Question: Where can I download the Mobile App?

Answer: We are still working on the rollout process so for now, we're only on the Apple AppStore and soon will be in the Google Play Store

Question: How do I know that Qwading is safe?

Answer: We do our best to make QWAD a safe space to connect. Every person creating a profile verifies their email and shares their location before joining the platform, and everyone agrees to our Terms & Conditions. Once matched, you can report or block anyone by emailing Support@QwadApp.com.

Beyond that, we believe in the good faith of the people who join QWAD — most people here are looking for the same thing you are: connection, honesty, and support through a hard time. As always, we encourage getting to know your group in chat first, meeting for the first time in a public place, and letting someone know your plans.

Question: What if I want to unsubscribe and remove all my data?

AnswerYour data belongs to you — not us. If you decide QWAD isn't the right fit anymore, we'll honor that decision fully and without friction.

Simply email us at support@qwadapp.com with the subject line "Delete My Account." Once your request is confirmed, we'll permanently remove your profile, questionnaire responses and group matches history from our systems within 5 business days. We don't retain hidden copies or sell your information to third parties — when it's gone, it's gone.

We built QWAD to help you feel less alone, not to hold onto you. If it's time to go, we'll make it easy.

Question: Why do you only match groups of 4 a QWAD?

Answer: We believe four is the sweet spot for real connection. It's small enough that everyone gets heard and no one fades into the background, but large enough that conversation still flows naturally, even if someone's having an off day. It's the group dynamic we've found works best for honest, healthy conversations about hard things.

As QWAD grows, this number also opens the door to features that make meeting up even easier — like sharing an Uber together or reserving a table for four at a restaurant without any awkward math on group size.

Question: How does QWAD match me with the right group?

Answer: When you sign up, you'll answer a short, simple questionnaire about what you're going through right now — whether that's grief, illness, job loss, becoming a new parent, or something else entirely. We use your answers, along with your location, to match you with three other people nearby who are facing something similar. Once matched, your group is yours — chat, get to know each other, and meet up whenever feels right.

Question: How long does it take to get matched?

Answer: Matching times can vary depending on how many people in your area are going through something similar, but most users are matched within a few days of completing the questionnaire. We'd rather take a little extra time to find the right group than rush you into one that doesn't fit.

Question: Can I leave a group or ask for a new match?

Answer: Yes. If your group doesn't feel like the right fit, you can leave at any time — no explanation needed — and request a new match. We want QWAD to feel supportive, not like an obligation.

Question: Is QWAD a replacement for therapy or professional help?

Answer: No. QWAD is a space for peer connection and community support, not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or medical care. If you're struggling, we always encourage reaching out to a licensed professional alongside your QWAD group.

Question: If I have an issue and/or don't understand the app usage?

Answer: Reach out — we're happy to help. Email us anytime at support@QwadApp.com and our team will walk you through it, answer your questions, or troubleshoot the issue with you directly.

Question: Will I be matched with people who are the same gender as me or will it be a mix group?

Answer: Right now, QWAD matches you with people of the same gender to help create a comfortable, judgment-free space from the very first conversation. We know opening up about hardship can already feel vulnerable, and we want your group to feel safe from day one. That said, we're actively exploring the option to enable mixed-gender groups in the future, for users who'd prefer that experience. If that's something you'd like to see, let us know — your feedback helps shape where we take QWAD next.

Question: Does this service cost anything to the user?

Answer: No — QWAD is free to use. Finding your people shouldn't come with a price tag, especially when you're already going through something hard. Signing up, getting matched, and connecting with your group all come at no cost to you.
